Alasdair Roberts in the (tune)house

Just finished a very creative days session working with Naomi Bedford and Alasdair Roberts at the studio. We recorded a version of Queen Jane which is sounding really lovely. Alasdair (for those not already familiar with his work) is a Glasgow based singer songwriter.  Signed to the Drag City Label his unique vocal style and guitar work is immersed in the song traditions of the British Isles and has saw him tour with the likes of Joanna Newsom, Bill Callahan (Smog) and Eddie Reader.

Naomi as always delivered a fine vocal performance and brought some lovely food :-)

We started the days recording the night before, with a jam.... joined by the ever so talented Lisa Knapp... which saw us trading songs, tunes and red wine into the wee small hours. Will keep you posted on the fruits of the days work.
